Developing ideas for the next phase

I'm currently having a small painting break I find from time to time a rest helps inspire me and helps me develop a sense of direction.

Part of the process involves looking through earlier painting, looking at artists in the outside world, looking through photographs and observing nature without actually putting paint to canvas

Looking to the future, one option I'd like to explore again is my "nightscapes", which were paintings I produced a couple of years ago, I exhibited one in the Derby Open and I might develop those ideas further.

Breeze, Chaos Theory and new painting

Sat out in the garden this afternoon reading all about Chaos Theory (its not all art!). Great breeze in the trees at the end of the garden.

Here is my latest painting, been working on this for a week or two and tweaking it. Its called Peak Hill Mist #2, inspired by elements of both the Peak District and Welsh landscape. I'm not selling it just yet, hoping to enter it into an upcoming exhibition/open art competition

Rejection!

I applied to RedRag gallery a good sounding gallery , they sent me a rejection letter
Looking at it positively they did say

"We have looked at your work and can see why you have had the success you have had. Your work is certainly interesting."

Derbyshire Life - Article

Ashley Franklin, for Derbyshire Life, has now finished the upcoming "Artist of the Month" article about me for the September Issue (due out 23rd August) . I think its a great article and he's done a fine job representing me and my painting. To coincide with the article I will be putting a range of new paintings online, some of which are featured in the article, keep your eyes on http://www.minigalleryworld.com/Gareth_Buxton over the next two weeks.
